Administrative History
The college was founded in 1851, and until 1966 it was known as the Derby Diocesan Training College.
By the 1970s the institution, having been renamed the Bishop Lonsdale College, had become one of twenty seven Church of England Colleges of Education and one of nine constituent colleges of the University of Nottingham School of Education.
Custodial History
These records were deposited in Derbyshire Record Office in October 2007.
