This map is described in the Derbyshire Record Society's "A Catalogue of Local Maps of Derbyshire c.1528–1800" (compiled by Harold Nichols, revised by Mary Wiltshire assisted by Susan Woore, published 2012). The description reads as follows:
The severall Commons belonging to the Townshipp of Boden Chappel were Surveyed by Samuel Hutchinson who with ye assistance of Edmd. Buckley, Saml. Frith and Frans. Gee chosen by ye Gentlemen and Owners of the said Commons did divide and set out ye same and order ye Fenceing According to this Plot and those Plots of Coumbs Edge and Bradshaw Edge Anno Dom 1712. Surveyor:Samuel Hutchinson. Scale: fifteen chains 22 yards each [l:4000]. Size: 78 x 70 cm. Materials: ink on linen backed paper. Centred on: SK078812 Notes: top of sheet south-east. Shows the divided commons bounded by Slack Hall, Rushup, Bolt Edge, Barmoor Clough with owners names and responsibility for fences: One parcel near Bagshaw named Old Field, otherwise no field names: landscape features, roads, paths, 5 houses in elevation: on the road from Slack Hall to Spawe pit Gate, 'This Peice is left for all to get stone from'P: a table headed, 'This table shows what fences are to be made by the owners of the several peices of land': a memorandum refers to a meeting of freeholders, upon public notice, the 23 October 1724 which permitted the alteration of route of a way from Rushop to Edal Way where it crossed Mr.Wm Bagshaw's piece.
