Description | The Corn Laws, in force in the United Kingdom between 1815 and 1846, imposed restrictions and tariffs on imported grain. The Anti-Corn Law League was a nation-wide political movement advocating free trade.
The medal is described: the obverse shows a starving artisan and family, with symbols of economic depression related to the impact of the Corn Laws; the reverse shows an artisan and family with symbols of a positive economic outlook.
