TitleTwo notebooks for teachers at Derby summer school
Date1920
DescriptionThe notebooks were prepared for teachers attending summer schools held in Derby in 1920. The aims of the summer schools were several, as stated at the front of each notebook, but their main purpose was to introduce teachers to the concept of the School Journey, whereby children went on organised trips, so that they could experience nature and areas outside their normal school and social environment. The summer schools held at Derby had a prime objective of promoting Derbyshire and its countryside in a positive light.
