Administrative HistoryHenry Plews Moorley was baptised in Ockbrook in 1870, the son of Joseph Moorley, an enginer driver, and Eliza Plews Moorley. Henry began working in 1883 at Mapperley Colliery, and by 1913 he had worked down 17 Derbyshire pits. He married Margaret Middleton in 1894 and by 1911 the couple had five children: Eliza Mary Middleton (b 1895), Joseph Middleton (b 1897), Albert Edward Plews (b 1901), Arthur Middleton (b 1906-1907), Blanche Middleton (b 1911). He died in 1934.
