Description
Letters relating to the death of Sergeant John Herbert Greaves, the son of Mrs. Amy Greaves of Ripley, who went missing and presumably died on August 15th 1943, aged 22, whilst on military operations in the Bay of Biscay area. Sergeant Greaves was in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve (no. 1210123). These letters were sent to Mrs. Greaves by various government departments following the disappearance.
