Administrative History
Derbyshire General Infirmary was established in 1810. Following the visit of Queen Victoria to Derby in May 1891 permission was given to rename the hospital the Derbyshire Royal Infirmary. Extensive proposals for rebuilding were implemented but in September 1894 a ceiling collapsed killing 5 workmen.
Custodial History
These records were given to Derbyshire Record Office by a private individual in October 2003.
