| Administrative History | The Matlock District comprised the areas covered by the following local authorities: Ilkeston Borough Council, the urban district councils of Alfreton, Ashbourne, Bakewell, Belper, Heanor, Matlock, Ripley and Wirksworth, and the rural district councils of Ashbourne, Bakewell and Belper. It was later amalgamated with the High Peak District to become the West Derbyshire District. |
