Administrative History
The High Peak District comprised the areas covered by the following local authorities: the borough councils of Buxton and Glossop, the urban district councils of New Mills and Whaley Bridge and Chapel-en-le-Frith Rural District Council. It was later amalgamated with the Matlock District to become the West Derbyshire District.
