Earl of Ormonde's estate
Administrative History
Walter Butler, 17th Earl and later 1st Marquess of Ormonde, acquired estates in Derbyshire through his marriage in 1805 to Anne Clarke, heiress to the Clarkes of Sutton Scarsdale. By Act of Parliament, these estates were sold c1824-1826.
