Archive CreatorJ H Watts (b 1924), Anglican vicar
Administrative HistoryJohn Harry Watts (born 1924) trained to be a clergyman at St Aidan's College at Birkenhead on Merseyside between 1957 and 1959, although he had given sermons or addresses regularly since 1952. He was Curate of Fairfield and King Sterndale from 1959 to 1961 and Curate of Wirksworth from 1961 to 1965. In 1965 he became Vicar of South Wingfield (united later with Wessington), where he served until 1989, when he retired. He continued, however, to officiate at church services until at least 1998.
