Administrative HistoryAshgate Croft School was set up in 1959 to help children with special needs. It was administered by North East Derbyshire Education Office under the Education Dept. of the County Council.

The school was originally adjoined by Ashbrook Junior Training Centre. In 1971 the centre became part of the school, known as the Askbrook Dept. The old school made up the Ashgate Dept.
Custodial HistoryThese records were transferred from the County Council's Education Department in July 2002.
