Clay Cross High Street (United) Methodist Church
Administrative History
New Connexion Methodists were established in Clay Cross by 1948 with a church in High Street. In 1907 New Connexion Methodists joined United Free Methodists and Bible Christians to form the United Methodist Church. In 1932 United Methodists joined Wesleyan and Primitive Methodists to form the Methodist Church. In Clay Cross the High Street Methodist Church joined Market Street (formerly Wesleyan) Methodist Church in 1964 to form Clay Cross Central Methodist Church.
