Administrative History | According to Bulmer's Directory of Derbyshire published in 1895, there was a Wesleyan Methodist church in Clay Cross from 1848. In 1932 the Wesleyan Methodists joined Primitive and United Methodists to form the Methodist Church. The church closed in 1964 and joined with High Street (United) Methodist Church to form Central Methodist Church. |
Custodial History | The majority of the records were deposited by Clay Cross Methodist Circuit in October 2001. The marriage registers had been deposited by the General Register Office as part of D1820 and were re-accessioned in October 2001. |
