Administrative HistoryThe Spadeadam Rocket Project, at Gilsland near Carlisle, was managed by Rolls Royce. These records relate to the community of employees at Spadeadam, including the pageant that they organised at Naworth Castle in 1960. Housing was provided for the employees at Greenfield and Millfield. Derek Dodds was involved in the Spadeadam project from the initial planning stage until he left in 1960. The site is now an RAF station, with a museum of the Spadeadam project.
Custodial HistoryThe records were donated to the Record Office in June 2001.
