Administrative HistoryThomas Norris Ince (1799-1873) was a legal clerk, first in Wirksworth and from about 1840 onwards in Wakefield. An obituary in The Sheffield and Rotherham Independent, 15 March 1873, asserts the "he was from a youth devoted to genealogical enquiries and his reputation for fidelity and industry, not only in his official duties, but also in his genealogies, was appreciated by all who knew him."
