Description | Three strips arranged in columns. Column 1. "Leap Year". A Lilliputian man being kissed by two women A 'sleeping' partner and his business partner. The balcony scene from Romeo and Juliet with Lilliputian figures. A dancing master eloping with a young woman to Gretna Green.
Column 2. A man talking to a sentry about the next century/sentry. Three Lilliputian men cock-fighting. A dandy being called 'King of Fools' by another man. A Lilliputian woman and a 'taylor done over'. 'The Taylor Done Over' was a late eighteenth-century Scottish song.
Column 3. A Lilliputian man with a woman in a low cut dress. "The woman that seduces all mankind" is a quotation from Gay's 'The Beggar's Opera', act I, scene I. A watchman telling a lodger that the house is on fire. A man talking to a Yorkshire ostler. A Lilliputian gentleman and a jockey examining a horse's legs. Available on CD 161. |
