Further InformationThe dancer portrayed is probably Marie-Jean-Augustin Vestris, who along with his father danced at the Opera House and gave classes in the 1780s. The pose of the figure is very similar to 'Oh Qui Goose-toe' (BM Sat 5906, published in 1781) which caricatures the younger Vestris.
Physical Description Coloured drawing. Size 225 x 175 mm. Portrait.
