John Quick (1748-1831) began acting when aged 12 in Kent and Surrey. He made is debut at the Haymarket in 1766 and in 1767 he was engaged by Colman for Covent Garden. He was talented comic actor, and as George III's favourite actor he visited Buckingham Palace and Windsor. He was one of the highest paid actors at Covent Garden. He played in 'Henry V' on 20 May 1782. |
