William Parsons (1736-1795) was born in London and worked as a strolling player in northern England and Scotland. He made his debut at Drury Lane in 'The Beggar's Opera' in 1762. He played Justice Shallow at Drury Lane on 29 Sep 1778 and 24 Oct 1778. He was drawn in this role and the subsequent print used to illustrate a 1785 edition of Shakespeare. |
