Description
James was the elder son of John William Wright and was a surgeon in Sheffield. His father's estate was divided in his will between himself and his brother John Wright of Tamworth; John inherited Eyam Hall, although it passed back to James Farewell's son Charles Sisum Wright on John's death in 1881, while James's seat in Eyam was The Firs. James Farewell Wright married Georgina Whittenbury and had two sons and one daughter
