Archive CreatorBagshaw and Eastwood Charities, Chesterfield
Administrative HistoryThe Elizabeth Bagshaw charity was established under the terms of the will of Mrs Elizabeth Bagshaw (proved 30 March 1802) and provided for the annual interest of £2,000 worth of stock to be paid to poor parishioners of Chesterfield. The Vicar of Chesterfield (and his successors) was appointed as a permanent trustee.

Blanche Eastwood's charity, providing similar benefits, was established by a declaration of trust signed by Miss Blanche Eastwood of Bramling Cottage, Chesterfield, in 1940. The trustees were to be the same as those administering the Bagshaw charity.

Both charities were wound up in 1999 and their property transferred to the Eustace Edmonds Gift Charity, Chesterfield.
Custodial HistoryThe records were deposited by the Vicar of Chesterfield St Mary and All Saints as Chairman of the Trustees of both charities. Acquired by Derbyshire Record Office in 2000.
