Administrative History	The clerk to this committee was also clerk to the guardians (and clerk to the then Shardlow RDC). The committee was set up in Dec 1895 and comprised representatives of the Shardlow RDC, Long Eaton UDC, Alvaston and Boulton UDC and the County Council. The purpose of the Joint Hospital District was to supervise the building and manning of an Isolation Hospital.
