from Walter Samuel Holmes of Stanton Lees, yeoman, Walter Samuel Coates of Crompsall Workhouse nr Manchester, farm bailiff and John Dakin of Overhaddon, farmer, trustees under will of Samuel Coates to John Bown of Bakewell, solicitor's clerk of house on north side of Tap Street, Youlgreave and part of garden on south east side of Tap Street (the part lying to east of walk crossing the same garden from north to south including the Ashplace) occupied by Martha, widow of Samuel Coates including refs to Samuel Coates' will made 2 Nov 1882, proved 24 Apr 1883 after Samuel's death 13 Dec 1882, for £100, 25 Jan 1884. With assignment of mortgage from Joseph George Bown of Bakewell, solicitor's clerk and James Gratton Bown of Great Longstone, waterworks manager to James Gratton Bown, including refs to John Bown's will made 1 Jul 1909, proved 12 Dec 1910 after John's death, 26 Oct 1910 for £100, dated 13 Apr 1911. With assignment of mortgage from James Gratton Bown and Joseph George Bown to John Thorpe Perry of Nottingham, gentleman for £101 7s 7d, 15 Jul 1911, with receipt of repayment of mortgage from J T Perry to Mary Elizabeth Coates of Vancouver, British Columbia (Canada). 20 Aug 1937
