Transcript or Index | To Mrs Williams March 14 1806 Madam I return Mr G Fielding's Letter, & Congratulate you on haveing so good a son - with respect to the very great Injustice you do to my Bro[the]r I can only say tis pity you look through so false a medium - the advice he gave to your Daughter when he quitted London was, to give up her wild pursuit directly, & to make her peace with you. She positively refused both, even with indignation. I have since written to remonstrate upon the same subjects, & shall probably meet with similar success. My Bro[the]r's patience under such repeated ill usage has been exemplary I must say, & tis no wonder that he at last was provoked to give up the Guardianship of Miss F's person, but having done so she must be responsible for her own conduct which I'm sorry to say has been such as to render it impossible for me to recommend her to any such situation as you point out. I am Madam yr Obedt Humble Sert N M |
