TitleVolume in remembrance of Midland Railway employees who gave their lives in the Great War 1914-1919. (printed)
Date1921
DescriptionAt front: a drawing of the cenotaph designed by Sir Edwin L Lutyens and erected at the Company Headquarters at Derby in memory of those who died in the Great War. A letter following explains that because of the numbers involved this volume was being sent to relatives of the dead rather than an invitation to the unveiling.
The main part consists of a list of names with rank and regiment, railway position, department and station, followed by summary tables of employees who joined the armed forces, number who gave their lives, or were wounded, invalided or taken prisoner, number and description of medals conferred on employees and principal works carried out in the Midland Company's workshops etc for the overseas armies.
