Administrative HistoryTapton House Secondary School opened in 1931 in the house which formerly belonged to George Stephenson. Following reorganisation of secondary education in Chesterfield and North East Derbyshire the school closed in 1993.
Custodial HistoryThese records were donated to Derbyshire Record Office by a private individual related to a former headteacher in August 1999 and November 2000.
