Administrative History | Board schools were established after the Education Act 1870. According to Kelly's Directory of Derbyshire (1899), Brampton and Walton School Board, consisting of 7 members, was formed on 15 March 1876. Boards were empowered to build new schools in areas of poor educational provision or else to absorb existing schools. Under the Education Act (1902) Board Schools became Council Schools in 1902. |
