Archive CreatorFrank Pratt of Derby and Wirksworth (1903-1981), specialist in reproduction antique furniture
Administrative HistoryFrank Pratt, born in 1903 and described in 1933 as a cabinet maker and in 1937 and 1946 as a picture framer and cabinet maker, leased 43 King St Derby in 1937 where he set up business as a maker of reproduction antique furniture. He also bought and sold brass, copper and pewter items, glass, china, pictures and furniture.

In 1967 Frank Pratt together with his partner (and former apprentice) T C Jones moved to Wirksworth on the loss of the Derby premises when the Derby inner ring road was built. They purchased the Old Grammar School in December 1968 and adapted it for their use. The firm also acquired a new showroom at 67 King Street, Derby. Frank Pratt retired in 1973 leaving Thomas Jones to continue the firm. He died in 1981.
