Description
Volume [with Thomas Mander's signature on cover, but probably kept by James Mander, author of "The Derbyshire Miner's Glossary" containing copies of the mining articles for the liberties of Bakewell 1829, Youlgreave and Gratton 1614 and 1751, Hazlebadge 1630, Hassop Calver and Rowland 1664 with additions to 1680, Haddon and Hartle nd but after Hill Carr Sough, Hartle 1647, notes on other liberties and on the wapentake of Wirksworth, notes on the recovery of debts in the Kingsfield, agreement concerning composition ore between the Alport Mining Co. and the Duke of Rutland 1841, grand jury verdict concerning debt at Mogshaw Rake Mine, Bakewell liberty 1845, and copy of entry concerning the mine 1850, notes on legal disputes and note on meers by James Kirkland 1776. Attached to the front cover is a copy sheet of notes on the payment of tithe ore by miners and smelters to the Duke of Rutland with particular reference to Yatestoop Mine, 18the cent.
