DescriptionPapers associated with the Blore family of Alstonfield (Staffordshire), Over Haddon and Monyash, and their relatives the Mellor family of Monyash

Benjamin Mellor of the Whim Farm, Monyash, inherited the Monyash estates of his cousins Thomas and Jonathan Blore on their deaths in 1862 and 1870. The Blore family had also owned properties in Alstonfield and Over Haddon since the 18th century, and title deeds to these properties are included in this collection.

The papers probably came into the possession of Messrs F & H Taylor of Bakewell since they were the solicitors involved in the executorship of Benjamin Mellor's estate and the sale of the Whim Farm in 1896
