Articles of agreement between Bache Thornhill and Peter Nightingale of Lea and John Gilbert of Worsley, Lanes: Thornhill may drive his sough through Nightingale's and Gilbert's lands by a drift between six and seven feet high and six feet wide, selling them all ore got in their lands at 15s 9d per load; Nightingale and Gilbert may enter Thornhill's Sough to drive levels into their own lands, make use of Thornhill' s Sough and conduct air along it; they may also drive into Thornhill's land and sell him ore got at 15 s 9d per load; if either party stops working the other may continue; Disputes-to be settled by arbitrators. 12 Dec 1791
