Description
This map is described in the Derbyshire Record Society's "A Catalogue of Local Maps of Derbyshire c.1528–1800" (compiled by Harold Nichols, revised by Mary Wiltshire assisted by Susan Woore, published 2012). The description reads as follows:
A map of the parish of Elvaston in the County of Derby belonging to the Right Honourable Willm. Earl of Harrington by G. Grey. [?1761]. Surveyor:George Grey. Scale: in perches. Size: 36 x 51 cm. Materials: [black and white photocopy on paper]. Centred on: SK410325 Notes:north at top. Shows Elvaston, Thulstan and Ambaston, houses in plan: enclosure fields numbered: table gives occupiers and demesne with acreages but no correlation to numbering: turnpike road to London: Borrow Ash mill: later pencil note illegible on copy. Location: Original in private possession; copy in DRO, D4996/6/66
