Administrative History
The employees' relief fund was set up by the directors in 1925 'owing to the state of trade and shortage of employment'. The company paid funds in on a quarterly basis, and these funds were administered by a committee who could make grants to any employee, the widows or dependents of deceased employees, or ex-employees who might be suffering financially due to ill health or unemployment.
