Administrative History | After the establishment of the Chesterfield School Board in 1871, a Board School took over in 1872 the premises in Hollis Lane which had been used as a British School for nearly thirty years. New school buildings in Hipper Street opened in 1873, with separate Boys and Girls with Infants schools. The Hollis Lane Infants School, later Hipper Street, became Spital Infants School (see D4970). |
