Title	Photographs: Thornbridge Hall and its owners
Date	c1900-1940s
Description	The Hall shown in these photographs was built in the late 1890s by George Jobson Marples. He died a bachelor in 1929, bequeathing his estate to his mistress who sold the estate to Charles Boot. Mr Boot was a Sheffield builder and made many improvements to the Hall and gardens. See D4719/8/1 for a short history of the present Hall with a note on the original house.
