Archive CreatorChapel en le Frith Rural District Council, formerly Rural Sanitary Authority
Administrative HistoryThe Public Health Act of 1872 designated Boards of Guardians as rural sanitary authorities in those areas not already covered by urban sanitary authorities. Rural sanitary authorities became rural district councils by the Local Government Act, 1894. The authority was superseded by High Peak Borough Council in 1974 under the Local Government Act, 1972.
