Administrative HistoryThe parish of Dronfield Woodhouse was formed in 1894, by Local Government Board Order No. 31, 810 out of the parish of Dronfield. It comprised the hamlets of Dronfield Woodhouse, Cowley, Mickley and Stubley. In 1935, the County of Derby Review Order, 1935 transferred most of the parish of Dronfield Woodhouse to the parish and urban

Parish councils helped provide local public services and amenities such as street lighting, recreation grounds and public seating, as well as liaised with other local authorities over proposals or issues that might concern the area.
Custodial HistoryThese records were deposited in Derbyshire Record Office in September 1968 and were originally accessioned as part of D566. They were re-accessioned in 1997.
