Administrative History | The School Board was set up for the District of Alvaston and Boulton in 1884 under the provisions of the 1870 Education Act. The Board consisted of five elected members. It purchased the school at Allenton which had been built by Isaac Allen in 1879. School Boards were abolished by the Education Act of 1902, and the school would have become the responsibility of the Local Education Authority. |
