Archive Creator	Matlock Local Board, later Matlock Urban District Council
Administrative History	The Local Board formed in 1862 was replaced by the Urban District Council (UDC) in 1895. This was expanded in 1924 to include the area of the former Matlock Bath and Scarthin Nick UDC and the parishes of Cromford and Tansley.
Custodial History	Deposited in Derbyshire Record Office in December 1996. Added to the catalogue as part of the FindersKeepers project by volunteer NGS.
