Title	Cab/Fire Brigade Committee minute books

Description	The provisions for firefighting were taken over by the Corporation in 1839. The Corporation were also responsible for licensing cabs, etc, and the two operations were overseen for many years by one committee. This committee met until Oct 1886, after which there were two separate committees. The minutes of the Fire Brigade Committee continued in the same volume as the Cab and Fire Brigade. For minutes of the Cab Committee see 22/1. It seems that the force was reorganised under the provisions of the Fire Service Act 1947.
