Administrative History | Crompton and Evans Union Bank was established in 1877 for the purpose of acquiring the existing sister-banks Crompton, Newton & Co of Derby and Crompton, Newton & Co of Chesterfield, as well as W & S Evans & Co of Derby. A sub-office of the Buxton branch was opened at Chapel-en-le-Frith in 1896. Crompton and Evans Union Bank was acquired by Parr's Bank in 1914 but continued to operate under the name Crompton Evans Unon Bank for some years thereafter. |
