Administrative HistoryBorn in Matlock, Frederick Redfern (1897-1918), was a private in the 13th Yorkshire Battalion, 15th Platoon, D Company, British Expeditionary Force (service number 34014). He died on 22 March 1918 at the Battle of St Quentin, near Arras. His sisters, Margaret and Dorothy, kept the records after his death.
