Derby, St Werburghs National School
Administrative History
Derby St Werburgh's National School in Curzon St., Derby was opened in 1839. Originally intended to accommodate about 500 children, its average attendance in 1890 was said to be 153 boys and 126 girls. It later became a public elementary school.
Custodial History
This item [formerly D1145 A/PI 91] was transferred to Derbyshire Record Office in 1972, and re-accessioned in 1995. Added to the catalogue as part of the FindersKeepers project by volunteer JW.
