DescriptionThe school occupied the building on the Mill Lane and Whitegates site since reorganisation in 1931 when the Junior and Infant schools were moved to the former National school (see D973). Prior to 1931, the Council Infants school, formerly the United Free Methodist school opened in 1873, was in Mill Lane. The Council Mixed School was built in 1912 and known as Whitegates. Codnor Junior School moved into the old Secondary School premises in 1966. Codnor Secondary School closed in July 1964. These records were transferred in March 1972 and were originally listed as part of D1040. For Managers' minutes 1914-1964 see D1040 C/E 17/1-4.
