Grassmoor Primary School
Administrative History
Records of Grassmoor Primary School which opened in 1857 and was originally called Grassmoor National (Mixed) School. A separate Infants Department opened in 1880 and separate boys and girls Junior Departments in September 1905. A separate Girls' Council school opened in 1912. In 1932, on reorganisation of the Senior schools, the school became a Junior Mixed School with separate Infant School. The schools became a County Primary School in September 1973. These records were deposited in February 1995 and September 2008.
