Administrative HistoryA chapel was first erected by the Wesleyan Methodists in 1840. A new chapel was built in 1896, with the old one then being used for a Sunday School. In 1939, however, the church was closed, as part of the scheme to build Ladybower Reservoir. The trustees of the church retained the sale money from the Derwent Valley Water Board, until the trust was wound up in 1953, when it was redistributed among the local Methodist churches.
Custodial HistoryDeposited by Peak Methodist Circuit at various dates between March 1978 and January 2005. Reaccessioned 1994.
