Administrative HistoryThere were originally three Methodist churches in Youlgreave, one each for the Wesleyan, Primitive and United Methodists. The Wesleyan Chapel became known as Wesley Chapel after the re-organisation of the Methodist Church in 1932.

The church was originally in the Bakewell Wesleyan Circuit. It was built in 1807, re-built in 1907, and sold in 1974.
Custodial HistoryThe records were deposited by the Peak Methodist Circuit between October 1994 and September 2001, and were originally held under the reference number D1877.
