Administrative History
Cromford Church was originally a Primitive Methodist Church at Scarthin. The church opened in 1853 and closed when the building was sold in 1920 due to lack of support and the expense of upkeep of the building. The 'tablet' was removed and refixed in Wirksworth Methodist Church. The sale of the Chapel raised the sum of £154. 17sh. 6d when it was finally sold on 18 July 1921.
Custodial History
Deposited in Derbyshire Record Office by Wirksworth Methodist Church in January 1994. Further accession deposited in April 2013 with other circuit records (see D4028/UL).
