Administrative HistoryHolmesfield School Board built a new school in 1894. Previously children were taught in the old school built by the Duke of Rutland in 1831 as a Sunday School. Early donations for educational purposes led to the purchase of land in Dronfield known as Penny Acres whose rent was taken over by the Local Education Authority in 1903.
Custodial HistoryThe records were transferred to Derbyshire Record Office by the school in July and September 1994.
